About The Position

Join ENERCON as a Part-Time Principal I&C Engineer. We are seeking experienced Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineers at the Principal level to apply their knowledge to essential energy sector projects. Nuclear Services Group (NSG) ENERCON Federal Services (EFS) Our engineers have the opportunity to collaborate with interdisciplinary partners, coordinate with diverse engineering teams and ensure project success. A typical day may include developing design studies, preparing engineering calculations & analysis, attending project meetings, performing a walkdown or mentoring junior employees. Requirements

• Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent in related field for the position and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
• Experience in one of the following industries required: engineering/design services, power generation, nuclear power, heavy industrial including chemical or pulp & paper, and government (DOE) projects
• Nuclear Engineering Change qualifications from any site that can be transferred are preferred
• 10CFR50.59 Screen and / or Evaluation qualifications that can be transferred are preferred
• Knowledge of digital hardware and software components commonly used in digital I&C system platforms
• Experience in the design, installation, and testing of large scale (complete systems) digital control and computer monitoring system upgrades at power plants
• Types of upgrades include replacement of Turbine/Generator Control Systems with DCS platforms, process computer, and cybersecurity systems
• Direct involvement in the entire digital upgrade life cycle including feasibility studies, procurement specifications, design change packages, FAT/SAT test procedure development, installation, and testing
• Working knowledge of the application of current regulatory and industry digital upgrade standards
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in a team environment
• Strong analytical skills and problem identification/resolution
• Must be able to get badged at a nuclear facility
• Must be able to perform plant walkdowns
• Candidates must be legally eligible to work in the US without requiring current or future sponsorship.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings, ENERCON and client specific background checks, and annual motor vehicle record (MVR) according to com pany and client policies.
