About The Position

Nevada State University invites applications for the position of Letter of Appointment (LOA) Hourly Part-Time Instructor - TRIO Upward Bound. TRIO Upward Bound grants serve eligible students from Clark County School District (CCSD) high schools. Saturday College dates are from October 2025 - April 2026. We are searching for individuals to teach the following subjects: English/Language Arts, High School Science, All Levels Digital Literacy, History, College Readiness, ACT/SAT Preparation, and Performing Arts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Recent teaching experience.
• Ability to pass a Nevada State University and CCSD background checks.
• Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in teaching area.
• Recent teaching experience with secondary education students.
• Current Nevada educator’s license.

Responsibilities

• Develop lesson plans.
• Provide instruction that leads to success in high school and college.
• Complete individual student assessments.
• Classroom management.
• Other duties as assigned.

Benefits

• Hourly Rate: $27.00 per hour (contingent upon grant funding).
