Dallas College seeks a part-time instructor to teach our CTE course Theatrical Rigging (DRTE 1170). Expertise in the rigging techniques for theatrical production and live events is required and includes the following: experience with industry best practices with counterweight systems and motorized and arena rigging, knowledge of various techniques, hardware, tools, and rigging safety for theatrical and event production, experience assessing load construction for suitability to rig, execute load calculation, and practice safe hanging and mounting procedures. Candidates should mention any teaching/training experience and certifications or licensure (e.g. ETCP certification) Excellent oral and written communication skills to interact with students. Demonstrated skills in successfully working with diverse populations through experiences such as formal training and past work experiences. The ability to provide quality customer service. May be required to lift and move materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
