About The Position

The Part-Time Instructor position at Alpena Community College involves teaching clinical portions of courses, preparing and distributing course syllabi, and performing all preparation requirements for laboratory exercises. Instructors will evaluate student progress through various assessments, act as a liaison between the college and students, and implement curriculum changes as requested by the Director of Nursing. Additionally, instructors are expected to maintain instructional laboratories and equipment, provide individual student assistance, and participate in curriculum development and evaluation activities. The role requires maintaining a high level of academic competency through staff development activities and may include other duties assigned by the Director of Nursing or Vice President of Instruction. Requirements

• BSN or higher Nursing degree and relevant clinical experience required.
• MSN preferred.
• Teaching experience in a higher education setting, including online teaching, preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of teaching methods preferred.
• Computer competency in word processing, instructional software and online instruction preferred.
• Curriculum development, especially online curriculum development preferred.

Responsibilities

• Be available for individual student assistance advising and/or consultation as necessary.
• Participate in curriculum development, revisions and evaluation activities.
• Maintain a high level of academic competency through staff development activities.
• Other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing and/or Vice President of Instruction.
