At least 3 years of industry experience required. AWS or equivalent certification is required; experience may be considered in lieu of certification. Conduct training related to welding skills and practices for adult students two evenings a week at a Tulsa Tech campus location. Teaching experience preferred but not required. May be needed to teach one or more of the following specialties: pipe welding, gas metal arc welding, flux cored arc welding, gas tungsten arc welding, SMAW. Essential Job Functions for all ACD Instructors: Demonstrate extensive knowledge of and experience in the appropriate subject matter. Instruct students in competency-based program curriculum using current instructional strategies appropriate to the subject matter to assure highest quality classroom instruction. Effectively manage the classroom to create an optimal learning environment. Maintain up-to-date records of student attendance, academic progress and grades as required by district policy and certification/regulatory agencies. Ensure syllabus, supply list and lesson plans are current prior to each class taught. Demonstrate effective people skills, communication skills and professionalism (i.e. - prepared, reliable, responsible, punctual, etc.) Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to the mission and goals of Tulsa Tech's ACD program. Participate in professional development opportunities as required by the ACD department. Perform all other duties as may be assigned by management from time to time.
