About The Position

The College of Southern Nevada is seeking a Part-Time Criminal Justice Instructor to teach live classes at any of the three main campuses. The primary responsibility of this position includes lecturing for a variety of criminal justice courses, developing lesson plans, syllabi, and course materials in conjunction with the Department Chair, and evaluating student mastery of skills and competencies required by course outcomes. The instructor will also provide an excellent teaching experience, student advisement, recruitment activities, and program/curriculum development.

Requirements

• An earned Master's Degree in Criminal Justice or closely related discipline from a regionally accredited college or university.
• A JD will be considered with appropriate experience in criminal justice.
• At least 5 years of experience working directly for a criminal justice agency.

Nice To Haves

• Experience teaching college criminal justice or related courses.
• Experience with CANVAS or other online learning management systems.
• Flexibility of schedule to teach live classes at any of the three main campuses during the morning, afternoon, or evening.

Responsibilities

• Teach live classes, both day and evening, at any of the three main CSN campuses.
• Lecture for a variety of criminal justice courses.
• Develop lesson plans, syllabi, and course materials in conjunction with Department Chair.
• Evaluate student mastery of skills and competencies required by course outcomes.
• Provide an excellent teaching experience as well as student advisement, recruitment activities, and program/curriculum development.

Benefits

• Starting salary of $925 per lecture credit hour.
• Exempt position.
• Full-Time Equivalent of 48.8%.
