About The Position

3-5 years' experience working as a Automotive Refinishing Technician in an automotive repair facility. ASE Auto Refinishing Certification is preferred. Knowledgeable regarding general shop safety, proper personal safety equipment and related specialty tools. Provide hands-on instruction in a lab setting for adult students in both non-structural and structural analysis and damage repair. Monitor and provide instruction in a safe working environment; compliant with federal, state and local regulations. Available to teach at least two evenings a week as scheduled throughout the spring, summer, and fall terms. Essential Job Functions for all ACD Instructors: Demonstrate extensive knowledge of and experience in the appropriate subject matter. Instruct students in competency-based program curriculum using current instructional strategies appropriate to the subject matter to assure highest quality classroom instruction. Effectively manage the classroom to create an optimal learning environment. Maintain up-to-date records of student attendance, academic progress and grades as required by district policy and certification/regulatory agencies. Ensure syllabus, supply list and lesson plans are current prior to each class taught. Demonstrate effective people skills, communication skills and professionalism (i.e. - prepared, reliable, responsible, punctual, etc.) Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to the mission and goals of Tulsa Tech's ACD program. Participate in professional development opportunities as required by the ACD department. Perform all duties as assigned by management from time to time.
