Part-Time Housekeeping Tech

About the position

The Part-Time Housekeeping Tech is responsible for keeping buildings in clean and orderly condition by performing various cleaning duties. This includes sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, waxing, vacuuming, and machine-cleaning hallways, stairs, and office spaces. The role also involves emptying and cleaning garbage containers, cleaning walls, vents, screens, furniture, drinking fountains, and other interior fixtures, as well as washing windows, glass doors, and light bulbs. The Housekeeping Tech is expected to clean restrooms and replenish supplies, set up and move furniture, equipment, and supplies, and perform other duties as assigned by the housekeeping supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Sweeps, mops, scrubs, waxes, vacuums, and machine-cleans hallways, stairs, and office space.
• Empties and cleans garbage containers.
• Cleans walls, vents, screens, furniture, drinking fountains, and other interior fixtures.
• Cleans and washes windows, glass doors, and light bulbs; replaces light bulbs as needed.
• Cleans restrooms and replenishes supplies.
• Sets up and moves furniture, equipment, and supplies.
• Performs other duties as assigned by housekeeping supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
• Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Valid Tennessee driver's license is required.
• Must be able to operate vacuums, rug shampoo machines, and related cleaning equipment.
