Part-Time Homebound / Homebased Special Education Teacher (Up to 3 position availables) (Immediate Start)
About The Position
We are a district that serves over 6,700 students and employs 750+ employees in a northwestern suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Our district consists of one primary school for kindergarten students, three elementary schools for grades 1-4, two middle schools for grades 5-8, and one high school for grades 9-12. Responsible for developing and providing specialized, research-based instruction to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities via in-home or virtual instruction. Also responsible for evaluating and assessing student progress against instructional objectives and following state mandated due process procedures and functions. Start date: Immediate FTE: 0.025 - 0.3 FTE, depending on position Contract: Student contact days during the 2025-26 school year Position 1: 3 hours per week Position 2: 1-2 hours per week Position 3: 5 hours per week These positions may be hired separately, or combined into one or two positions. Work may be performed by a current STMA Teacher outside of current duty hours for additional compensation or by a new part-time hire during normal school hours in accordance with the contract. Assignments Special education teachers work by district assignment and may be moved between buildings and/or programs based on student needs, location of certain programs, student count(s), and applicable licensure. Contract: 186 days/year
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in education
- Required teaching certificate in Special Education as required by the State of Minnesota
- Specific content knowledge, training, or job experience required before appointment
- Successful student teaching

- Dual licensure preferred but not required.
