In this position, you will be responsible for managing inbound and outbound calls in a timely manner. Your primary goal is to provide excellent customer service, resolve customer inquiries, and ensure customer satisfaction. This position is part time. Employees are required to work Monday, Thursday, Friday, and rotating Saturdays, from 03:00PM - 11:30PM. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. We offer 4 weeks of paid training. The hours during training will be 8am to 4:30pm, Monday - Friday. Training will be conducted virtually from your home.

  • Reviews electronic chart documentation ensuring correct patient, location, and no duplicate information.
  • Processes release of information (ROI) requests.
  • Manages requests for documentation and information.
  • Scans and edits documents in the electronic medical record.
  • Locates, logs, retrieves, files, and delivers medical records stored in various mediums and systems.
  • May train and mentor co-workers.
  • Analyzes documentation and tracks completion to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Promotes principles of health information accuracy, transparency, currency, accessibility, relevancy, and reliability.
  • Work with Microsoft Word, Excel (create, edit, save documents and spreadsheets) and Outlook (email and calendar management).
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • High School Diploma / GED or equivalent experience
  • Must be 18 years of age OR older
  • 1+ years of customer service experience within a hospital or healthcare environment
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to work Monday, Thursday, Friday, and rotating Saturdays, from 03:00PM - 11:30PM.
  • Ability to train for the first four weeks from 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday
  • 2+ years of customer service experience
  • Health Information Management (HIM) experience
  • Experience working within the health care Industry and with health care insurance
  • Experience working in a hospital, physician's office or medical clinic setting
  • Experience working in a call center
  • Experience communicating with patients & staff with various educational & socio-economic backgrounds
  • A clerical or administrative support background
  • RHIT or RHIA certification
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
