About The Position

The position involves assisting customers at self-checkout registers, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring a clean and safe store environment. Responsibilities include monitoring self-checkout areas, engaging with customers, processing transactions, and maintaining store standards. The role requires physical activity such as standing, walking, and lifting, as well as the ability to handle customer inquiries and provide product information. The individual will also be responsible for training and coaching other associates, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and performing various tasks to support store operations.

Requirements

  • Less than 1 year of experience using a computer.
  • Less than 1 year of experience using common retail technology.
  • 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier.
  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience identifying and selling products.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience as a head cashier.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience working in any department at Lowe's.
  • 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Less than a year of retail experience detecting signs of shoplifting.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and assist customers at multiple self-checkout registers.
  • Proactively recommend products and services to customers.
  • Engage with customers to ensure a positive shopping experience.
  • Process sales transactions, returns, and refunds using a cash register.
  • Train and coach associates in departmental duties.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store.
  • Monitor security and detect signs of theft.
  • Prepare the register area at the beginning and end of shifts.
  • Assist customers with locating and loading merchandise.
  • Communicate product information and warranty details to customers.
