About The Position

The position involves anticipating and responding to guests in a friendly and positive manner, ensuring the highest level of service is provided. Responsibilities include processing check-ins and check-outs, verifying billing, creating reservations, and handling special requests. The role requires assisting guests with knowledge of hotel property, local attractions, and the hours of operation of hotel outlets and services. Teamwork is essential, as the individual must meet guests' needs and contribute to the efforts of other departments when necessary. The position also involves understanding and following the company guest service recovery program, utilizing proper selling techniques to maximize room revenues, and monitoring room availability while adhering to booking policies and procedures. Additionally, the individual will drive sales by up-selling rooms and amenities, follow company procedures for cash handling and financial transactions, and ensure proper use of equipment while adhering to cost controls to reduce expenses and waste. The role requires planning, organizing, and prioritizing work duties to produce the required volume of work, attending all required department and hotel meetings, and maintaining a clean and safe work area in compliance with regulations. Knowledge of hotel emergency procedures is also necessary.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 1+ years prior guest service experience required preferably in a hospitality setting
  • Excellent verbal communication skills needed
  • Attention to detail, customer focused and the ability to perform job duties in a fast-paced environment
  • Maintains predictable and reliable attendance
  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis
  • Ability to move throughout the hotel (standing, walking, kneeling, bending) for extended periods
