About The Position
Tessa International School is a fast-growing bilingual, international school located in Hoboken, New Jersey, just one subway stop from Manhattan, New York. We currently enroll students from early childhood to 4th grade, with plans to add one grade next year. Our school is accredited by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IB) and is recognized as a NAIS model school. We are also in the process of seeking accreditation for the elementary levels by the Spanish government. Our educational approach emphasizes language immersion, with children learning 80% of the time in the target language (Spanish, French, or Mandarin) and 20% in English from Nursery through Kindergarten. Starting in grade 1, the learning balance shifts to 50% in the target language and 50% in English. We are currently seeking a caring and dedicated French Assistant Teacher for our Pre-K class. The ideal candidate will assist the Lead Teacher in various tasks, contribute to classroom and behavior management, and ensure that the classroom environment is clean, tidy, and presentable at all times. The role also involves leading outdoor play and field trips, participating in meetings and training sessions, and providing pastoral care to students. Depending on the class, the Assistant Teacher may also be responsible for diaper changing, feeding, and soothing very young children. This position is part-time, with a schedule from Monday to Friday, 8 am to 12 pm, and there may be opportunities to work extra hours as needed.
