The University of Nevada, Reno’s Fitness and Recreation Sports department is looking for upbeat, high energy, flexible fitness instructors to work with both college students and faculty. They will also need to possess basic experience in operating gym equipment and giving instructions to others on how to use it. Classes may be for credit (PEX) or drop-in. PEX Classes: Women's Self Denfense RAD Program Drop In Classes: Girls on Guard RAD Program Class Description: Raise students’ awareness of aggressive behavior, recognize how aggressive behavior impacts their lives, learn steps to avoid aggressive behavior, consider how they can be part of reducing aggression and violence, and practice hands-on self-defense skills to resist and escape aggressive behavior directed toward them. This program is designed to empower participants to make safer choices when confronted with aggressive behavior. This reality based simulation scenario driven program covers situational dynamics from one on one hand to hand confrontation, multiple subject encounters and weapon defense training issues.
