About The Position
The City Fire Department is seeking motivated Part-Time Firefighters to support daily staffing and serve alongside our full-time crews. This paid, non-benefitted position allows up to 999 hours of work annually. Position to begin in January 2026.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass a physical ability test and background/medical screenings
- Firefighter I (within 6 months of hire)
- HazMat Awareness/Operations
- EMT certification required
Responsibilities
- Respond to emergencies and perform firefighting, rescue, and EMS support duties
- Maintain monthly training and readiness requirements
- Work 12–24 hour shifts as scheduled, primarily at Station 2
- Follow department policies, safety standards, and supervision from company officers
