Controls and extinguishes fires, protects life and property, and maintains fire fighting equipment of the City. Assists senior firefighters and engineers in fire suppression, rescue operations, and fire equipment readiness. Performs emergency first aid at the scene of fires or accidents and ensures fire stations and equipment are ready for all emergency and non-emergency situations by performing the following duties. Reporting relationships, work assignments, and work schedules may be subject to change in order to meet City needs or operational requirements. Attendance at work and the ability to get along with the public, supervisors, and co-workers are essential elements of this position. Other duties may be assigned. Responds to all emergency calls for fire suppression.
