About The Position

The National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA) is seeking detail-oriented part-time individuals to perform tasks that support our organization. We are seeking self-motivated, detail-oriented, and organized individuals with a positive attitude and friendly demeanor who enjoy working independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Past experience in sales or agriculture is a plus. The field enumerator position starts at $17.75 plus mileage reimbursement, on-the-job paid training, flexibility, and opportunities for professional advancement. The Field Enumerator supports agricultural producers by gathering reliable, precise, and unbiased data, which provides information that farmers, ranchers, rural communities, and other agricultural businesses depend on. An enumerator conducts interviews with positive representation, effectively communicating benefits in all survey-related activities by thorough interviews with ag operators in person and over the telephone, as well as conducting crop counts in designated agricultural fields. They are trained for specific studies of animal and plant health, farming procedures, and all questionnaires required to do the job effectively. The position requires timely entry of detailed data gathered from agricultural operators and reporting of daily progress, time, and mileage.

Requirements

• Private workspace with a functional telephone and minimal distractions
• Maintained personal vehicle for travel related to field enumerator duties
• Flexible schedule that may include some evenings and weekends to meet deadlines
• Proficiency in computer systems and/or iPads
• Experience working in a deadline-driven environment with multiple tasks
• Ability to conduct accurate crop counts in corn or soybean fields
• Ability to lift/carry up to 40 lbs, and walk unassisted on uneven ground for up to 100 yards
• Able to travel up to 250 miles on a quarterly basis for training, as needed
• Pass a background check
