Capella University is seeking qualified adjunct faculty to provide high-quality instruction in its FlexPath and GuidedPath learning formats. The role involves teaching online courses, offering timely feedback to students, and participating in faculty meetings and training. Faculty will utilize their expertise to enhance the learning experience and ensure academic success for students in a flexible and supportive environment.

  • Utilize professional expertise to provide high-quality instruction from a pre-designed curriculum.
  • Be available within 48 hours to provide feedback to learners via phone, email, and in the courseroom.
  • Utilize the online learning platform to enrich the learning experience.
  • Establish high standards and ensure learners understand evaluation criteria.
  • Adhere to University policies and procedures.
  • Attend faculty meetings and workshops as required.
  • Participate in other activities based on university needs.
  • Three or more years of teaching experience in an online setting required.
  • Experience teaching in higher education required.
  • Evidence of supporting learner success and a commitment to quality teaching outcomes required.
  • Active unencumbered current license as a registered nurse (RN) required.
  • Doctorate in Nursing or related field (PhD or EdD) required.
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) required.
  • Experience writing curriculum preferred.
  • Membership in an educational leadership organization preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to service and practice in educational leadership preferred.
  • Experience with leadership through team engagement preferred.
  • Experience with scholarly writing and use of APA 7th edition preferred.
  • Flexible work schedule with rolling enrollment for courses.
  • Compensation based on the number and type of work assignments offered and accepted.
  • Average pay for teaching a course is over $3,000.
  • Support for diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
