About The Position

The Department of Psychology is seeking a part-time instructor to teach PSY 383 Laboratory in Health Psychology during the Spring semester beginning January 12, 2026 (3 credits). The course involves an applied study of research questions and techniques in the field of health psychology. The hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined based on their per-credit-rate-history within the hiring department. This position is contingent on funding availability and enrollment.

Requirements

  • Candidates should hold a Ph.D. or be working towards a Ph.D. in Psychology or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and/or updating a class syllabus.
  • Ordering the appropriate books and materials in advance of the class start date.
  • Preparing lectures, projects or other student assignments.
  • Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours of two hours per week.
  • Presenting instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the class.
  • Meeting all designated class periods.
  • Working with the academic unit to maintain student learning outcomes.
  • Submitting completed final grades according to University regulations.
  • Grading student assignments and exams in a timely manner.
  • Providing departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations.
  • Completing all other course-related duties as outlined by your department's policies for part-time instructors.
