About The Position

Kennesaw State University is seeking applications for part-time faculty positions in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering for the academic year 2024-2025. These positions are on an as-needed basis and will involve teaching various courses in civil and environmental engineering, focusing on both theoretical and practical aspects of the discipline.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required.
  • OR a minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required.

Nice To Haves

  • A PE license
  • College level teaching experience
  • Experience with online teaching platforms

Responsibilities

  • Teach one or more courses and/or laboratories in basic engineering mechanics, including Statics, Strength of Materials, and Fluid Mechanics.
  • Teach upper-level Civil Engineering courses such as Engineering Problem Solving, Civil Engineering Graphics, Structural Analysis and Design, Hydrology, Environmental Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, and Transportation and Highway Design.
  • Develop and deliver course materials that emphasize realistic and practical problem-solving skills.
