About The Position

Reporting to the Dean of Student Support & Success, counselors are responsible for providing clinical and outreach services to ensure consistent high-quality care and support for students' personal and academic success. Counselors provide consistent and timely response, intervention and follow up when needed in response to mental health crises and emergencies. The counselor will be a licensed mental health counselor or licensed psychologist with a demonstrated work history of providing mental health services in a mental health setting; professional confidence and sound judgment; success in building relationships and working collaboratively with key stakeholders; experience navigating complex systems; strong commitment to student development; a demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion, multicultural responsiveness; and strong negotiation and advocacy skills. Counselors must have a clear understanding of student development, crisis intervention, and knowledge of national trends and best practices in college student mental health.
