The Shoreline Community College Chemistry department offers a rigorous sequence of courses for students interested in professional/technical degrees, and for science and non-science transfer majors. This includes a one quarter introductory chemistry for non-majors, two-quarter introductory general/organic/biochemistry (GOB) sequence, three-quarter general inorganic chemistry sequence, three-quarter organic chemistry sequence, and a two-quarter biochemistry sequence. The instrumentation in our teaching labs include UV-vis spectrophotometers, FTIRs, GCs, GC-MS, Vernier Data Acquisition, and a 60MHz NMR. The successful faculty member should have the ability and experience to teach any of our chemistry courses/labs, be familiar with the use of instrumentation in teaching labs and have some experience/desire in green chemistry. A portion of the teaching assignment may be in the evening and include hybrid or online modalities.
