Job Summary The University of North Georgia is accepting applications for a part-time faculty in Physical Therapy. This position will support and teach integumentary care in the entry-level DPT program and the Post-Professional DPT students. Part time faculty are expected to co-teach in integumentary care, mentoring physical therapy students. Part-time faculty will deliver instruction using lectures, demonstrations, case presentations and class discussions along with laboratory sessions for practical skill development. The course is designed as a clinical applications course and will include laboratory work on peri-wound and wound assessment, debridement, dressings, and therapeutic interventions. A record of teaching the pathophysiology of wounds and burns; the rehabilitation of patients with related acute and sub-acute diseases that require skilled and intermediate care. Requirements

  • Degree in Physical Therapy from a CAPTE accredited program. Doctoral degree in PT or Terminal Academic degree makes a strong candidate.
  • The successful candidate will have a current Georgia PT license and will have practiced clinic physical therapy for more than five years.

Nice To Haves

  • ABPTS certification is preferred.
  • Academic teaching experience and clinical management make a strong candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site instruction in DPT courses, primarily in the areas of physical therapy assessment and problem solving for patients with multiple impairments and medical co morbidities needing physical therapy intervention.
