About The Position

The Part-time Faculty Online Support position at Washtenaw Community College involves providing customized support for faculty and students in relation to instructional technology and the Learning Management System (LMS), specifically Canvas. Requirements

• Associate's Degree or higher and two years of experience with a technology platform (e.g., LMS), or equivalent education and experience.
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office.
• Experience in help desk and/or customer service/training.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Active listening competencies.
• Ability to learn new software tools and higher-education instructional language.
• Ability to work autonomously and within a team.

Nice To Haves

• Experience directly supporting higher education faculty.
• Learning Management System (LMS) experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide scheduled and drop-in support for faculty and students regarding LMS instructional and technical needs.
• Resolve Tier II LMS tickets while adhering to service level agreements.
• Increase skills competencies in LMS and third-party instructional software as assigned.
• Collaborate with the Faculty Online Support team for task coverage and solution implementation.
• Communicate updates to the Director, Online Technologies regarding trends and software issues.
• Assist with Online Learning semester operations and conduct accessibility reviews for compliance standards.
• Support management and maintenance of LMS course sites.
• Utilize helpdesk software to resolve issues efficiently.
• Work with instructional designers and media specialists to address online course problems.
• Attend team, departmental, and division meetings.
