About The Position

Augustana College, Rock Island, Illinois, invites applications for one or more part-time positions teaching one or more of the following: applied trombone, applied euphonium, applied tuba, a low brass methods course, and/or low brass chamber music. This position begins in February 2026. Requirements: Successful candidates will hold (at minimum) a master's degree in music performance or a related field and be able to demonstrate outstanding teaching to undergraduate students of all levels. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Candidates requiring H-1B visas will not be considered, and those needing visa sponsorship other than H-1B must cover all visa-related application costs. Additional Information: Compensation and Benefits: The budgeted compensation for this position(s) is dependent upon enrollment and includes between 8-10 instructional credits at the below rates. (Compensation is contingent on meeting the enrollment threshold and is reduced if minimum enrollments are not met.) $1400 per credit for part-time instructors without a terminal degree. $1500 per credit for part-time instructors with a terminal degree. At 13 credits or less for the 2025-26 academic year, this position is not benefits eligible. Augustana College is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
