About The Position

The department of Physical Sciences, Engineering, and Technology (PSET) at DCC invites applications for part-time faculty in Electrical Technology. The department is searching for instructors for the Spring 2026 semester to teach the following course(s): ELT 117 - Pneumatics, Hydraulics, and Mechanical Drives (2 lecture contact hours/week and 2 lab contact hours/week) and ELT 203 - Electric Power Systems (3 lecture contact hours/week). A selection of other courses available for future semesters include DC Circuits, Introduction to Programming for Automation, Digital Fundamentals, AC and Electronic Circuits, Manufacturing Tools and Practices, Electronics II, and Motors and Robotics. Part-time faculty teach assigned class material in accordance with learning objectives developed by the department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related area.
  • Official transcripts required upon hire.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in electrical engineering or related area.
  • Experience teaching at the college level, particularly at a community college.
  • A commitment to diversity and an understanding of how diversity impacts learning and instruction.

Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned class material in accordance with learning objectives developed by the department.
  • Conduct lectures and labs for Electrical Technology courses.
  • Engage with students to enhance their learning experience.

Benefits

  • At negotiated rate, starting at $1,399 per lecture contact hour (Instructor, Step 1).
  • $1,049 per lab contact hour (Instructor, Step 1).
