About The Position

The University of Arizona is seeking a part-time faculty member for the Department of Disability and Psychoeducational Studies to instruct undergraduate students in Deaf Studies during the Spring Session. Requirements

  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience as an educator in educational interpreting.
  • Valid interpreter license in the state of Arizona.
  • RID (Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf) certification.
  • Background clearance for access to participating schools.

Nice To Haves

  • Ph.D. in a relevant field (though extensive professional experience with a Master's degree will be considered).
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching at the college level.

Responsibilities

  • Instruct undergraduate students in Deaf Studies during Spring 2025 courses.
  • Plan lectures and assignments for the courses.
  • Assist students in developing interpreting skills.
  • Grade projects and exams for the courses.
  • Collaborate with faculty in ASL and Deaf Studies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
