ArtCenter College of Design is searching for an experienced Part-Time Faculty — Design Anthropology to join our team. The Humanities and Sciences Department is seeking an anthropologist with a demonstrated, sustained engagement with the cultural worlds of design and/or technology, whether through theoretical or applied approaches. Geographic specialization is open, however, we particularly welcome applicants with research expertise or professional experience in East Asia or the Pacific Rim. Ideal applicants will have experience or enthusiastic interest in teaching anthropology in interdisciplinary and creative contexts, and embrace the unique opportunities presented in teaching undergraduate students from across ArtCenter’s studio programs (e.g. Interaction Design, Entertainment Design, Graphic Design, Transportation Design, Photography, Fine Art). This is a part-time faculty position with an in-person teaching modality. Class schedules are determined by the College, and ArtCenter reserves the right to modify class schedules as needed, with appropriate notice, to meet business needs.
