The Communication Studies Department at Loyola Marymount University seeks lecturers to teach undergraduate courses in our Communication Studies major and Public Relations minor. Housed in the College of Communication and Fine Arts, the Department seeks colleagues who can teach courses in the following areas: Communication theory and research methods (including quantitative, qualitative, and rhetorical methods), Relational or interpersonal communication, Intercultural communication, Organizational communication, Strategic communication, Public relations, Rhetoric, and Media studies. The Department also supports the Rhetorical Arts area of the University Core Curriculum and welcomes applicants who are able to develop students’ skills in information literacy as well as written and oral communication. Fulfilling an undergraduate Core Curriculum requirement, Rhetorical Arts courses facilitate students’ articulate expression, critical thinking, and moral reflection, notably grounded in the Jesuit principle of Eloquentia Perfecta, “the good person speaking and writing well for the common good.” Applications are reviewed as positions become available. If an opening is not available at the time of your application, it will be kept on file for future needs. Lecturers typically teach one to two courses on a one-semester appointment basis.
