About The Position

AdventHealth is seeking a Phlebotomist for a part-time evening position at the South Overland Park location. The role involves collecting, processing, and prioritizing large volumes of blood, body fluids, tissues, and other substances for laboratory testing. The position requires continuous communication with other hospital departments and external customers, necessitating strong customer service skills. The Phlebotomist will also perform clerical tasks related to specimen collection and processing, requiring meticulous attention to detail. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 12:30 PM to 6:30 PM.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support - CPR Certification.

Nice To Haves

• Six months of relevant healthcare experience.
• Completion of a phlebotomy training program.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens from patients using age-appropriate techniques.
• Label and prepare specimens for transport.
• Perform data entry functions related to specimen collection.
• Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and associates.
• Assist with training and orientation of new employees/students.
• Maintain inventory and stock within draw stations.
• Utilize Personal Protective Equipment and follow established protocols.
• Perform waived testing according to established procedures.
• Organize and prioritize workflow to meet established turnaround times.
• Document corrective actions and communicate to the team.
