About The Position

The position involves teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) at the community college level, focusing on various aspects of language acquisition including reading, writing, grammar, conversation, listening, and speaking. Experience in Vocational ESL (VESL) related to English for Computers, Early Childhood Education (ECE), Math, and/or Employment is also desirable.

Requirements

• Master's in TESL, TESOL, applied linguistics with a TESL emphasis, linguistics with a TESL emphasis, English with a TESL emphasis, or education with a TESL emphasis.
• Bachelor's in TESL, TESOL, English with a TESL certificate, linguistics with a TESL certificate, applied linguistics with a TESL certificate, or any foreign language with a TESL certificate AND Master's in linguistics, applied linguistics, English, composition, bilingual/bicultural studies, reading speech, or any foreign language.
• Possess a California Community College life credential in the subject matter area of English.
• Meet the equivalency requirement as specified by the Yuba Community College District.

Nice To Haves
