About The Position

The primary responsibility of this position is the delivery of all materials in a safe, timely, and orderly manner that helps ensure customer satisfaction. Employees are expected to understand and promote the Company Mission Statement and Statement of Values while adhering to the Company Code of Conduct. The position requires compliance with all DOT and company requirements for drivers, maintaining the vehicle in a clean and safe manner, and reporting any accidents immediately. Additionally, the driver must ensure compliance with all GA, NC, SC, and FL DOT requirements governing the movement of oversized loads, and ensure all required specific oversized load materials are available and in use. The driver must also comply with company safety policies and maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area, reporting all safety concerns immediately to a supervisor. As part of Harbin Lumber Company, Inc., the driver must be a team player and develop positive working relationships with all location personnel, Outside Sales Representatives, and other Company employees.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Successful completion of an eight-hour defensive driving course or hold a current CDL (Class A, B, or C).
• Successful completion of a course in management of highway movements or oversize vehicles and loads.
• Successful completion of NC DOT oversize overweight escort vehicle course or certification by another state's program.
• Retention of certification documents for prompt presentation upon request by law enforcement.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Certification from a professional driving school or association is highly preferred.
• Good math and reading skills are required.
• Ability to represent the Company in a friendly and helpful manner.
• Basic knowledge of construction and/or building materials is helpful.
