About The Position

Equipment Room Associates oversee all operations within the recreation center equipment room. This will include, but is not limited to: proper equipment distribution and collection processes, routine and preventative maintenance of all equipment stored within the equipment room, performing laundry services as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A pre-employment post offer physical exam will be required of the selected candidate.
  • Physical effort required, including but not limited to: lifting weights, squatting, bending, reaching, spotting, and prolonged standing and walking.
  • Skilled professional communication etiquette.
  • Great interpersonal skills.
  • Hold a valid CPR/First Aid/AED certification.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) or more years with customer service experience.
  • College experience.
  • Possess effective decision-making skills.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with students, faculty, and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining inventory of all Physical Education & Recreation Department equipment.
  • Provide quality customer service to facility users and instructors.
  • Responsible for distribution and collection of equipment to facility patrons.
  • Responsible for the organization of equipment storage areas.
  • Monitor locker rooms for cleanliness and supplies.
  • Perform laundry operations.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and ensure the cleanliness of all equipment.
  • Ensure all Physical Education and Recreation equipment meets safety standards and is in operable working condition.
  • Communicate with the Physical Education and Recreation administrators about any suspicious activities and facility safety or maintenance issues that may arise.
  • Assist with external event equipment requests and special event equipment requests.
  • Able to attend in-house meetings and training sessions.
