Instruct adult English language learners in the areas of reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Students' proficiency levels range from non-English speakers to level 6 (approximately 9th grade reading level), basic recording keeping such as attendance, follow up on students who do not attend classes, promoting classes in the community with flyers and attending community events, and assisting with orientation and testing. Program year runs from July 1st to June 30th. Expectations: Good communication with supervisor, fellow instructors, and students Present organized lessons in a face-to-face classroom setting Be willing to switch to an online class setting if circumstances require Be flexible Participate in professional development opportunities Assist with student recruitment and retention Be open to learning and trying new things in the classroom Have a heart for immigrant and refugee populations Connect with students and build a positive learning community within your classroom
