About The Position

Monte Cassino School is seeking a part-time Elementary Spanish Teacher to begin the 2026-2027 school year. Monte Cassino School is a Catholic Benedictine, independent, co-ed school, Grades PK3-8, with an Early Childhood Learning Center (PK3-K), Elementary School (grades 1-4), and Middle School (grades 5-8) in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Teachers must possess a strong work ethic and demonstrate initiative independently and within a team context. We are searching for a teacher who can embrace the joys and challenges of working in a school, celebrating the wonderful moments and navigating the messy ones with empathy and resilience. The Elementary Spanish Teacher plays an important role in the community as she provides the introduction to one of the three languages that students will choose to study in their middle school years. The teacher needs to be dynamic and engaging as she provides early-elementary Spanish instruction to 1st and 2nd grade students. This role requires teaching one or two days per week, totaling 7–8 hours per week, and focuses on helping young learners build foundational Spanish vocabulary, cultural awareness, and confidence in a fun and interactive classroom setting. The Elementary Spanish Teacher: Teaches engaging, developmentally appropriate Spanish lessons to 1st and 2nd grade students. Introduces foundational vocabulary, simple conversational phrases, songs, games, and cultural activities. Creates a positive, joyful classroom environment that supports early language acquisition. Collaborates with the Elementary School 1st and 2nd Grade Team to align lessons with school values and instructional goals. Maintains clear communication with administrators and support staff regarding schedules, materials, and student needs. Manages classroom behavior in a constructive, supportive manner. Prepares basic instructional materials and maintain organization of classroom resources. Models professionalism, kindness, and respect consistent with the Monte Cassino mission.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or teaching subject area preferred, but not required if right experience proves knowledge and competency.
  • Experience working with early elementary students, preferably in a classroom or enrichment setting.
  • Proficiency in Spanish; native or near-native fluency strongly preferred.
  • Ability to plan fun, interactive lessons that keep young learners engaged.
  • Strong communication skills and a warm, patient demeanor.
  • Commitment to the values and mission of Monte Cassino School.
  • Work while standing or walking around room during instructional time.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, dealing with a wide variety of challenges and deadlines
  • Must have the physical energy and stamina to move about campus throughout the day, including climbing staircases
