About The Position

The Part Time Elementary Paraprofessional at Brightmont Academy is responsible for supporting students in a one-on-one educational setting, particularly those who have faced challenges in traditional classroom environments. Requirements

  • Experience working with students from diverse academic, social, mental, and emotional backgrounds.
  • A Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Proficiency in technology resources, tools, and curricula, including G-Suite and Chromebooks.
  • Administrative skills for lesson coverage, grades, and pacing progress.
  • Strong professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to provide effective instructional strategies.
  • Ability to pass a federal background screening and provide fingerprints (AZ, WA only).
  • Possess a personal presence characterized by honesty, integrity, and caring.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in special education settings.
  • Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs).

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate 'whole student' pedagogy by being aware of students' learning styles, interests, and special needs.
  • Employ advanced instructional methods and adjust strategies based on assessments to meet each student's learning needs.
  • Cultivate a learning relationship that encourages student growth through positive interactions.
  • Demonstrate creative thinking to make instruction engaging and fun.
  • Connect prior knowledge with new ideas to help students understand the whole picture.
  • Increase students' academic confidence and engagement through effective encouragement.
  • Be part of the team and create a culture that promotes enjoyable learning experiences.
  • Evaluate students' goals and adjust instruction as needed to support their progress.
  • Demonstrate professionalism in all communications on campus.
  • Seek feedback from the director and colleagues, escalating concerns appropriately and timely.
  • Respect student confidentiality at all times.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
