Job SummaryThe Mission of Immaculate Conception of Dardenne Catholic School is empowering students, through love and virtue, to develop their Catholic faith, their intellect, and a community of one Spirit in Christ Jesus.Founded in 1880, Immaculate Conception Parish School and Preschool serves over 480 families and 820 students. The school has over 100 staff members including administration, office staff, classroom teachers, resource teachers, special area class teachers, teacher aides, and support staff. Immaculate Conception School fosters a “community of one Spirit in Christ Jesus”, dedicated to serving the mission of Catholic education in the Archdiocese of St. Louis and the needs of its families. Under the supervision of the Principal and Preschool Director, the teacher is responsible for fostering the intellectual, social, physical, and faith development of children. Responsibilities

  • Design and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans that align with the provided curriculum and support early learning standards and milestones.
  • Create and maintain a safe, clean, and engaging classroom environment that supports active learning and fosters children’s growth.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, including academic, behavioral, and social development, and effectively communicate observations to parents and school administration.
  • Foster strong partnerships with families by maintaining regular, open communication, addressing concerns proactively, and encouraging parent involvement in classroom activities and student learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and administrators to support cohesive instruction and implement programs that enhance student success.
  • Organize classroom materials and routines to optimize instructional time and motivate student engagement and independence.
  • Establish and maintain positive classroom management practices that promote self-regulation, respect, and a strong sense of self-worth among students.
  • Support a positive school culture by working cooperatively with staff and administration and building respectful, supportive relationships with students and families.
  • Actively engage in living the mission of Immaculate Conception Catholic School, as a member of “a community of one Spirit in Christ Jesus.”
  • Live the mission of the Catholic Church in daily life, as defined by the Christian Witness statement and the gospel of Jesus Christ.
  • Provide the instruction and learning environment that will enable each student to experience growth of the whole child at the appropriate age, grade level, and individual capacity.
  • Provide children with engaging tools, materials, and resources for structured activities, exploration, and play
  • Plan and deliver lessons that support early literacy, numeracy, social‑emotional development, and faith formation
  • Adapt teaching strategies and materials to meet diverse learning styles and interests
  • Observe, document, and support each child’s individual development
  • Communicate effectively and regularly with parents and guardians
  • Build and maintain positive, supportive relationships with children and families
  • Work collaboratively with other preschool teachers and aides to ensure consistency and excellence across the program
