Part-time DSP Caregiver
About The Position
Description: Horizon Project is a non-profit that helps adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) support adults with IDD in their homes and on community outings. As a DSP, you’ll provide direct care to clients living in 24/7 group homes and in supported living apartments. Our goal is to make sure our clients are safe, healthy, and fulfilled. DSPs also help the clients go on community outings like the county fair, Pendleton Round Up, or concerts. Make a difference in someone's life today! Part-Time Work Schedule: ON-CALL (within your defined availability) Average about 8-29 hrs per week (may vary) Shifts available 27/4
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must pass a pre-employment background check by Oregon DHS
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test
- Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in English (Verbal & Written)
Responsibilities
- Client medication administration
- Basic home cleaning and maintenance (professionals handle most maintenance tasks)
- Provide personalized care designed to meet each client's needs
- Assist with client financials and petty cash
- Help the client bathe, go to the bathroom, and brush their teeth
- Cooking, cleaning, and laundry
- Use a computer to complete daily documentation
- Go with clients to the store, museum, library, county fair, or music concerts, etc.
