About The Position

The Part-Time Diesel Technician is responsible for the safe, timely repair, and maintenance of heavy-duty transit vehicles, passenger vehicles, and other fleet vehicles used in transporting passengers to specific destinations within the City of Fayetteville Arkansas. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Requirements

• The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma
• Completion of required education or training along with the required license or certification (appropriate military service training or Diesel Truck Technician certification)
• At least five years of experience in vehicle maintenance or a related field
• Applicable equivalencies may be considered on the above qualifications.

Nice To Haves

• Associate’s degree or advanced specialized or technical training
• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
• ASE Certification
• At least one year of heavy truck/ transit maintenance experience
