About The Position

The Family Health Center in Neptune, NJ is seeking a part-time attending dentist to join our team! This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work alongside dental residents, providing Chairside teaching, diagnostics, and patient care in a supportive environment.

Requirements

• DDS or DMD degree from an accredited dental program.
• Successful completion of the National Board Dental Examination and relevant state or regional clinical examination.
• Five or more years of experience in an academic dental program.
• Familiarity with Commission on Dental Accreditation standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

Nice To Haves

• Spanish-speaking preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide chairside mentorship and teaching to dental residents.
• Diagnose and treat patients, including performing routine cleanings and preventative procedures.
• Develop and implement patient treatment plans.
• Perform a range of dental procedures, including extractions, root canals, implants, fillings, and oral surgery.
• Address bite issues and overcrowding.
• Apply dental sealants and whiteners.
• Prescribe medications as needed (e.g., pain relievers, antibiotics).
• Administer sedatives or anesthesia as required.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., x-rays, models).
• Maintain accurate patient records, documenting oral health and treatments provided.
• Collaborate effectively with other staff members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Supervise dental residents.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Adhere to HMH organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
