OREGON YOUTH AUTHORITY is seeking a permanent, part-time Dentist to perform all medically necessary dental services and procedures for all youth at MacLaren Youth Correctional Facility (MYCF) and youth residing at the Oak Creek facility and the Jackie Winters Transition Program (JWTP). Travel to other OYA facilities, to provide services, may also be required. You will ensure that an electronic dental record is established on all these youth. As the dentist, you will oversee the priority list of dental treatment needs for the youth and provide dental services in a culturally informed manner and using a trauma-informed approach. In addition to providing dental services and procedures at MYCF, Oak Creek and JWTP, you will need to provide dental services for youth from other close-custody facilities.

Performs all dental care services and procedures using a trauma-informed, and culturally appropriate approach.
Provide initial oral exams on all youth when they arrive at intake at MYCF and Oak Creek.
Performs all phases of general, oral and dental medicine, including operative endodontics, exodontics and periodontics services, as well as limited oral surgery.
Performs oral examinations, diagnose, and develop a plan of treatment to correct oral health problems for each youth.
Maintains a dental record on all youth committed to MYCF, and Oak Creek including the JWTP program and youth from other OYA facilities.
Triage, assess and treat youth with acute dental needs communicated via medi-grams.
Assists others in the dental office with various processes and procedures.
Provides oversight and clinical supervision of the dental assistant.
Coordinates with community dental providers to ensure treatment/operative procedures are completed for youth.
Promotes a preventive dental program which includes preventive care and plaque control methods.

A current Dentist's license issued by the Oregon Board of Dentistry at the time of appointment.
Valid Oregon Driver's License and acceptable driving record.
