Membership to the Fitchburg State University part time adjunct faculty pool is open to qualified and competent experts, external to the Fitchburg State University faculty, who possess skills, education, and experience in academic and/or professional areas. All part time faculty are responsible for providing our students with a high-quality learning environment, while utilizing their focused expertise and experience in their individual classroom, laboratories and studios. The Department of Humanities at Fitchburg State University invites applications for Adjunct Faculty in Music. We occasionally have openings to a range of music history classes, including survey courses such as Art of Music, interdisciplinary arts/music course Commonwealth of the Arts, as well other music history or theory courses, which may include a variety of genres such as Jazz, Classical, World, or Popular Music. Strong candidates will have a skill set that balances scholarship in history/theory/musicology and performance ability, as appropriate for the specific courses to be taught.
