Part Time Customer Service Clerk

About the position

This is a part time position. Primary responsibility is to Take Excellent Care Of Our Customers by satisfying each customer's needs, exceeding their expectations, and making every shopping visit a pleasant and satisfying experience. This requires accurately and efficiently operating the cash register, providing various services at the customer service counter, and maintaining security and control of all funds in the cash register. Perform duties of floor monitor when one is not assigned to be on-duty. May be assigned to be the on-duty floor monitor. Perform the duties of cashier and bagger when appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Take excellent care of customers by satisfying their needs and exceeding expectations.
• Accurately and efficiently operate the cash register.
• Provide various services at the customer service counter.
• Maintain security and control of all funds in the cash register.
• Perform duties of floor monitor when not assigned to be on-duty.
• May be assigned to be the on-duty floor monitor.
• Perform duties of cashier and bagger when appropriate.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to participate in and successfully complete required training.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
• Ability to write simple correspondence in English.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, vendors, and other associates who only speak English.
• Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and calculate discount percentages using American currency.
• Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
