About The Position

We are looking for a responsible part time custodian to help maintain and protect our facilities. This position is available for 10-15 hours a week. The external and internal appearance of a building reflects on the occupants. It is important for a custodian, or janitor, to be careful and thorough in working, cleaning and tidying the premises, as well as preventing vandalism. The ideal candidate will be experienced in a custodian role focused on building upkeep. They will have great physical endurance to cover a large space. A keen eye for detail and diligence are imperative in custodial maintenance jobs.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and disinfecting classrooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, and other areas as assigned.
• Collect and dispose of trash and recyclables from classrooms, offices, and common areas.
• Empty and clean waste containers regularly and ensure proper segregation and disposal of different types of waste.
• Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of floors by mopping, buffing, waxing, and vacuuming.
• Identify and report any floor maintenance or repair needs.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms regularly, ensuring a fresh and sanitary environment.
• Restock supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper as needed.
• Assist in setting up classrooms for various activities, events, or meetings.
• Arrange furniture and equipment as per the instructions provided.
