About The Position

The Part-Time Custodian-Nights position involves following routine cleaning procedures to maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency of the building. The role requires the custodian to work during night hours and perform various cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure a clean and safe environment for students and staff.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to read basic operating instructions, labels, and follow directions.
  • Demonstrates aptitude for successful fulfillment of assigned performance responsibilities.
  • Willingness to work occasional overtime, flexible hours, and schedule changes.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a daily cleaning schedule that includes floors, chalkboards, wastebaskets, windows, furniture, equipment, water fountains, and restrooms.
  • Keeps school building and grounds, including sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, and play areas neat and clean at all times.
  • Complies with local laws and procedures for storage and disposal of trash.
  • Assists in maintaining an inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment and requests additional supplies as needed.
  • Moves furniture or equipment as directed.
  • Remains on the school premises during school hours and during non-school hours when the use of the building has been authorized.
  • Assists with lunchroom setup, including arranging tables and chairs as needed.
  • Performs preventative cleaning to ensure the comfort, health, and safety of students and staff.
  • Follows the daily work schedule carefully and keeps busy.
  • Reports to Principal upon completion of duties for other instructions.
  • Follows safety procedures.
  • Keeps equipment cleaned and strives for improvement in quality of performance.
  • Maintains positive and cooperative working relationships with colleagues and others.
  • Meets attendance standards and complies with notification procedures for absences.
  • Demonstrates behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible.
  • Complies with district policies, as well as state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Adheres to the district's safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintains confidentiality in the conduct of district business.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of interacting with students and/or district employees.
  • Demonstrates regular and prompt attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
