About The Position

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assist head coach with the day-to-day operations of a Division II Track and Field/Cross Country program. Organization of weekly, monthly, and yearly training and skill development plan for the distance events. Student-athlete recruitment – Assist Full Time Staff in the recruitment of prospective student athletes, ability to identify prospective student-athletes (PSA), assess talent, build relationships, and guide PSAs through initial eligibility process. Organization of practice and training times in coordination with other track and field staff/athletic department staff. Communicate with student-athletes in the distance event group as well as the rest of the team. Assist with athlete development. Assist with promotions and marketing of program. Assist in coordination of home track and field/cross country meets (collegiate and high school) Participate in community service projects and program wide community engagement Fundraising – ability to participate in team organized fundraising efforts throughout the year. Alumni Relations – ability to engage with former members of the track and field program. Compliance – knowledge of and commitment to NCAA, Conference, Institutional policies and procedures. Compensation is per credit, the current credit rate is a minimum of $1819 per credit. This adjunct position will remain open for 1 year to allow departments’ access to candidate pools when there is a need to hire an adjunct to teach a course(s) during defined academic semester(s). Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Coaching experience and or playing experience at the collegiate level
  • Understanding of comprehensive duties of collegiate coach
  • NCAA off-campus recruiting certification or ability to gain certification immediately
  • Evidence of the ability to work with persons from culturally diverse backgrounds
  • Evidence of a valid driver’s license, or ability to acquire a legal driver’s license or qualify for a reasonable accommodation

  • Collegiate Coaching experience or Playing experience at NCAA DI, DII, or DIII level
