About The Position

Penn State Harrisburg, School of Public Affairs, invites applications for adjunct appointments for the 2025 - 2026 Academic Year. The opening requires teaching Criminal Justice (CRIMJ) Courses for our Residential programs. The Criminal Justice Program offers both online and residential undergraduate (A.S. and B.S.) and graduate (MACJ) programs in criminal justice. The Criminal Justice Program is part of the School of Public Affairs with additional undergraduate programs in Public Policy and Political Science. Additional graduate programs within the School include the Master’s in Public Administration, the Master’s in Health Administration, and a Ph.D. in Public Administration. Penn State Harrisburg is located in the Central Pennsylvania area, in close proximity to downtown Harrisburg and the State Capitol complex.

Requirements

  • A Ph.D. in criminal justice or a related social science discipline is preferred.
  • Highly qualified ABDs with substantial experience in the field may be considered.
  • A minimum of an earned Master’s degree or Juris Doctorate degree.
  • Some classroom experience teaching in a college environment.
  • Substantial experience working in the criminal justice field.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Criminal Justice (CRIMJ) courses for residential programs.
  • Engage with students in a classroom environment.
  • Contribute to the academic community within the School of Public Affairs.
