Job Description - Line/Prep Cook-Nursing Home Aide (Part-Time) Responsible for ongoing meal production and timely meal service Test and assist with new recipes Clean the kitchen; put away and organize food deliveries Assist with kitchen inspections as needed to ensure the foodservice production area is safe and sanitary Inspect storage areas regularly for proper temperatures, cleanliness, and organization Willing to provide direction to cook-aides and dish-aides as needed. Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility Provide compassionate, respectful care that promotes resident dignity and comfort Assist nursing staff with routine resident care tasks as directed Observe and report changes in residents' physical condition or behavior to nursing staff Help maintain a clean, safe, and orderly resident environment Support residents during meals, activities, and transfers as needed Follow all facility policies, procedures, and infection control guidelines

Requirements

  • One year of cooking experience in a high-volume environment preferred
  • Food Handler's Permit required
  • High school diploma
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Positive attitude with prompt, efficient, and courteous service
  • Passion to learn and grow within the cooking profession
  • Ability to work part-time hours, including weekends or holidays as needed
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Compassionate, patient-focused attitude
  • Ability to follow care plans and facility guidelines

Nice To Haves

  • Previous caregiving or nursing aide experience preferred (training provided if applicable)

Responsibilities
