About The Position

The Part-Time Continuing Education Instructor teaches and works with Recreation and Leisure and/or Continuing Workforce development courses. This role involves preparing course outlines and syllabi, teaching both lecture and laboratory sections, and maintaining accurate attendance records. The instructor is responsible for developing teaching and learning strategies that optimize student performance and curriculum development. Additionally, the instructor participates in textbook and technology committees, collaborates with the Chairperson or designee to provide substitute instruction as needed, and assists with recruitment, retention, and other departmental functions. Compliance with department and College policies and procedures is essential, along with performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum requirements include academic and/or professional expertise in the corresponding field(s)
• State Certification where applicable
• Prior experience teaching adult learners
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work well with students, staff, and faculty
• Ability to work in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment
