About The Position

The Part-Time Continuing Education Instructor teaches Recreation and Leisure and/or Continuing Workforce development courses. This role involves preparing and distributing course outlines and syllabi to students, teaching both lecture and laboratory sections, and maintaining accurate attendance records. The instructor is responsible for developing teaching and learning strategies that optimize student performance, creating curriculum, and participating in textbook and technology committees. Additionally, the instructor must comply with department and College policies and procedures and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum requirements include academic and/or professional expertise in the corresponding field(s)
  • State Certification where applicable
  • Prior experience teaching adult learners
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work well with students, staff, and faculty
  • Ability to work in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment
